The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated a number of assets belonging to the inactive Governor of North Maluku (Malut) Abdul Gani Kasuba (AGK). Head of KPK News, Ali Fikri, said the assets were spread across Ternate, Tidore Islands and South Halmahera.
“Based on information from witnesses examined by the investigative team, it was found that suspect AGK had owned several economically valuable assets spread across several locations, including Ternate City, Tidore Islands Regency, and Bacan, South Halmahera, allegedly related to the case currently being investigated. ,” said Ali Fikri to journalists, Friday (22/3/2024).
Ali said the assets confiscated were 10 plots of land. He said, on one of the land locations, there was a hotel that was ready to operate.

“The assets in question are 10 plots of land and buildings and were confiscated on Wednesday (20/3). At one of the land locations, there is a hotel building which will be prepared to operate immediately,” he said.
He said the confiscation was carried out on Wednesday (20/3). He said the confiscation was carried out for optimization asset recovery from Abdul Gani, who is currently a suspect in the alleged bribery case.
“The aim of confiscating these assets is for optimization asset recovery from the proceeds of corruption crimes,” he said.
The KPK previously named Abdul Gani Kasuba as a suspect in the alleged bribery case. Gani is suspected of accepting bribes related to infrastructure projects in North Maluku.
The value of various infrastructure projects in North Maluku reaches IDR 500 billion, sourced from the APBN. Gani allegedly ordered his subordinates to manipulate the progress of the project as if it was more than 50 percent complete so that the budget could be disbursed. Abdul Gani is suspected of receiving a bribe of IDR 2.2 billion which was used for hotel accommodation and to pay for his personal health needs.
Abdul Gani is also suspected of receiving deposits from ASN in North Maluku. The following is a list of suspects in this case:

2. Head of the North Maluku Housing and Settlement Department, Adnan Hasanudin
3. Head of PUPR North Maluku, Daud Ismail
4. Head of BPPBJ North Maluku, Ridwan Arsan
5. Aide to the Governor of North Maluku, Ramadhan Ibrahim
6. Private party, Stevi Thomas
7. Private party, Kristian Wuisan.
