JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated a number of assets, including a hotel belonging to the inactive Governor of North Maluku (Malut) Abdul Gani Kasuba.
Abdul Gani is a suspect in alleged bribery for infrastructure projects within the North Maluku Provincial Government.
“At one of the land locations, there is a hotel building which will be prepared to operate immediately,” said Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Enforcement and Institutional Spokesperson Ali Fikri to journalists, Friday (22/3/2024).
Ali said that Abdul Gani’s assets were discovered based on information obtained by investigators from witnesses.

Investigators then discovered that Abdul Gani had a number of assets of economic value spread across Ternate City, Tidore Islands Regency, and Bacan, South Halmahera.
These assets are suspected to be related to the Abdul Gani corruption case.
“The assets in question are 10 plots of land and buildings and were confiscated on (20/3),” said Ali.
The forced confiscation effort aims to maximize the recovery of state assets enjoyed by corruptors.
“For optimization recovery assets “from the proceeds of corruption crimes,” said Ali.

It is known that Abdul Gani was arrested in the KPK’s sting operation (OTT) on December 18 last year in Jakarta.
He and his subordinates were then named as suspects in alleged bribery for a road infrastructure development project.
Recently, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) developed an investigation and investigated allegations of corruption in the mining permit sector.
Not only that, the Corruption Eradication Commission is also targeting alleged money laundering crimes (TPPU).
For this reason, investigators have summoned two of Abdul Ghani’s children, namely M. Thoriq Kasuba and Nurul Izzah, to be examined as witnesses.
