Suspected of immorality, 13 unwed couples were raided at hotels in the Banjarmasin area

Banjarmasin (ANTARA) – Central Banjarmasin Police, South Kalimantan Regional Police, raided 13 unmarried couples who were suspected of committing immoral acts while in a hotel room.

“There were 13 couples without marriage certificates arrested when the police carried out patrol activities to anticipate immoral acts at hotels during the month of Ramadhan,” said Central Banjarmasin Police Chief Commissioner Eka Saprianto in Banjarmasin, Sunday.

A total of 13 unmarried couples were arrested by officers while checking a number of hotels in the Central Banjarmasin area.

Members of the Central Banjarmasin Police visited four hotels or lodgings, namely the Royal Borneo Guest House Jalan Djok Mentaya, Kertak Baru Ilir Village, Hotel Mira Inn Nagasari Jalan Djok Mentaya, Kertak Baru Ilir Village, Hotel Pelangi Jalam Sutoyo S, Teluk Dalam Village, and Hotel Mira Inn Jalan Pangeran. Samudera, Kertak Baru Ulu Village.

“The hotel raid was carried out early Sunday morning starting at 00.30 WITA until just before dawn at 03.00 WITA,” said Police Commissioner Eka accompanied by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Central Banjarmasin Police, Inspector Hendra Agustian Ginting.

Eka continued that the patrol team also confiscated dozens of bottles/cans of alcoholic drinks of various brands at Depot 88 Jalan Pangeran Samudera, Kertak Baru Ulu Village, Central Banjarmasin District.

“All perpetrators of public ills that we arrested during this patrol activity were immediately taken to the Sector Police for examination. If there are criminal elements, they will be processed according to applicable legal regulations,” stressed Eka.

Eka also said that the patrol activities created this condition to anticipate acts of thuggery and prevent immoral acts so that criminal acts do not occur during the month of Ramadhan 1445 Hijriah in the jurisdiction of the Central Banjarmasin Police.

Eka appealed to the public to always be alert to perpetrators of crime and report if they experience or become aware of criminal acts in the jurisdiction of the Central Banjarmasin Police.

“We continue to increase this condition-creating patrol activity to provide a sense of security and comfort to the community in carrying out their worship in the month of Ramadan,” said Eka.
