Suara.com – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated 10 plots of land and buildings belonging to corruption suspect the inactive North Maluku Governor Abdul Ghani Kasuba in North Maluku.
Head of the KPK News Section, Ali Fikri, said the confiscation was carried out on Thursday 23 March 2023.
“Several assets of economic value from the suspect AGK (Gani) which are scattered in several locations including Ternate City, Tidore Islands Regency and Bacan, South Halmahera are suspected to be related to the case currently being investigated,” said Ali in his statement, Friday (22/3/2024).
Ali said that one of the buildings confiscated was a hotel building that was ready to operate.
“On one of the land locations, there is a hotel building which will be prepared to operate immediately,” he said.
The aim of confiscating a number of Gani’s assets is to optimize asset recovery from the proceeds of corruption crimes.
As is known, Gani was named a suspect in alleged corruption, in the form of receiving bribes and gratuities worth IDR 2.2 billion.
The case is related to development projects and buying and selling of positions within the North Maluku provincial government. The infrastructure development project has a budget ceiling of IDR 500 billion.
The results of this investigation were then developed by the Corruption Eradication Commission, until they discovered allegations of criminal acts related to mining permits.
